Tekann Hieroglyphs
I'm having major problems. I am not a good conscriptor and this is especially draining me. I've been trying for week to create the hieroglyphs for Tekann and I tapped out pathetically at four symbols. Now I'm trying to find an alternative, either a mercenary conscriptor or just hijacking Mayan for reassignment... I dunno. Any suggestions?

Mayan...and then let me at it... Seriously. Go through and do some reassignments, and then show me what you have, maybe I'll get inspired.

Its worth a shot, and you are a scriptmaster (hehe).

Ok, so I took a stroll through the MED (Mayan Epigraphic Database) and picked out symbols and basically assigned them at random. The letters near each in the following diagram constitute every consonant and possible consonant cluster (some duplicates are made for initial, medial, and final clusters). http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c11/Fmra/allglyph.png I liked these symbols, mostly because of the rounded box shape most have (uniformity) and that they aren't necessarily containing very "mayan" pictures. The problem with the above picture is that some of those clusters only appear as affixes (especially -txnn) and I would rather the afixes be something like this -> http://www3.iath.virginia.edu/med/images/glyphs/000900.gif In the picture: black are regular consonants red are initial clusters magenta are final clusters blue are medial clusters and purple are affixes I was heading for syllabary style with vowels (7) integrated, so there were to be: 119 regular CV glyphs 105 initial cluster glyphs 35 medial cluster glyphs 63 final cluster glyphs and 12 affix glyphlets (no inherit vowels on these) So, yeah, I bogged out. Thank you for offering to help if you can. :)

Thank you for offering to help if you can. Well, to be quite blunt about it, I don't think you need any help...just a swift kick in the rear.... You have a solid borrowing underway, you just need to stick it out. Don't give in to the voice in your head telling you that you should stop because of your own opinion of yourself, that's just laziness farting on you. Keep going, you're on the right path. You need 322 glyphs, right? You've already got 47, that's ~1/7 completed.

Be aware, I am working on something that will render 384 glyphs. They will be quite blocky and perhaps not what you're looking for, but please hold judgment until you see them.

cool. ok. :)

Absolutely. I like those. And I may not be as out as you thought. With those highly stylized figures, I may be able to draw little pictures out of them and then they'd look like hieroglyphs. Just a thought. I like it none-the-less. :)

Those look cool - just like one of your Qatama scripts (forgot the name), unless you actually took them from it.
