An outline of the precepts of Zembu, followed by ~89% of Tamegans. See Clearly View the world and yourself without preconceived notions or false perceptions. See the Truth in every situation. Know Yourself In order to blend with Nature, one needs to know themselves in every way – physically, mentally and spiritually. Have no false modesty nor exaggerated ideas of self-worth. Detachment and Non-judgment Observe, not interfere. Do not judge, or become involved in trivialities. Non-attachment is a prime goal, because only through that will you be free to advance along your path. Not Trying But Doing “Trying” creates an adversarial relationship with Nature; it hinders you with the possibilities of failure and wasted effort. Much better to simply do it or walk away. Think Independently Following the flock leads only to the illusion of contentment, to satisfaction with “things” and a lifetime subscription to mediocrity and unfulfilled dreams. Expanding The Self Keeping an open mind is of paramount importance. Nay-saying other paths and beliefs can only lead to blocking your own advancement in life. Staying open to one and all is a requisite for advancing along your path. Faith In Life Not a blind faith; rather, an optimistic attitude about the changes that life continually brings. Fearing change is equivalent to fearing life itself, and a life that is feared is no life at all. Right Here, Right Now Living in the moment. Seizing the day. Feeling the world around you in minute detail. Focusing on the present, without regretting the past or projecting into the future. What happened before is history and cannot be changed; what will happen in the future cannot be known, so cannot be changed; the only thing left is to live fully in the present. Enjoying Life Our time is limited. What a waste to spend it all being mad or sad! ENJOY life – get out and experience it. Stop fretting over the past and worrying about the future. Laughter In addition to being a healing force, laughter balances out the negativity along your path. So much better to laugh than to cry! Nature Seek to achieve a natural state brings them into constant and intimate contact with nature in all of its manifestations. Living a natural life is the primary goal. Nonresistance Achieving without undue effort. If it doesn’t happen after a set amount of work, perhaps it’s time to explore another way to achieve your goal.

Food - Procurement Methods, Surplus, Storage, Distribution Food comes from hunting and gathering. Tamegans typically hunt fish, deer, rabbit, bear, elk and moose. Horses are occasionally slaughtered if times are tough. Plants are gathered when come upon. Select groups of gatherers are sent out to look for and gather plants. They are taught by the obradi in the ways of herbalism. They are as highly regarded as the warriors due to the importance of their job. Food is sometimes claimed in raids. Food is distributed and stored on a family basis with other families contributing to another if necessary. Meat is usually dried except for the meal after the food was killed or appropriated.
