Nightwish
Any other Nightwish fans out there? I really like this band -- combination of awesome composition, great instrumentalists, great vocalists, and an incredible lyricist. Brilliant. For those who don't know, Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band that started in 1996, and recently released their fourth or fifth album, called Dark Passion Play. It features Tuomas Holopainen on keys, Marco Hietala on bass and vocals, Jukku some-last-name on drums, Emppu Vuoronen (sp?) on guitar, and Anette Olzon singing. Awesome band.

Yeah, Amaranth is a bit pop-ish. Try listening to Ghost Love Score or the Poet and the Pendulum (they can both be found in good quality vids on youtube) -- those are the standout pieces by this band.

Most of my friends listen to them, and I think I know the Amaranth song my heart now :lol: Not exactly my type of music which I would listen to, but pretty OK ;)

I've heard of them, courtesy of one of my metalhead friends. I think that they have a unique ability to transcend into multiple genres. By the way, Aleco, Hvor i Norge bør du? (forgive me if my Norwegian isn't perfect!)
