Jay Lake's "Mainspring" alternate Earth
What do people here think of the conworld of Jay Lake's novel "Mainspring"?

This is a conversation about a book? It doesn't belong here.

This is a conversation about a book?About the conworld in a book, yes. It doesn't belong here.Sorry. I thought it was as much in the "general" area as the following:<*>Playlist :), Please contribute. <*>LARRY THE CABLE GUY WISDOM <*>My sisters forum. <*>So..who wants to argue about... <*>My new cat. <*>A new job. <*>Be nice to your animals. <*>U.S. may stay in Iraq to '09, based on new plan

This is a conversation about a book?About the conworld in a book, yes. But without the book, is there a conworld to discuss? If not, then it's a conversation about a book that happens to be have a conworld in it, and not a conworld. And even then, you can't reasonably start a conversation asking about a conworld in a book, without first asking if anyone has heard of the book, or read it. I never heard of it before you posted your rather general question, and I can't see myself purchasing it anytime soon.
