Introducing myself "qanuk" Hello everyone, my name in Drew and my username is qanuk, which simply means "man" in my conlang.
I enjoy astronomy, volcanology, art (especially space art), linguistics, whiskey, wine, beer, coffee, whitewater rafting, and hanging around smart people.
Things I don't enjoy include cheap propaganda, cliches, stupidity, and most prof. sports.
I'm not a heavily political person, although my viewpoints are generally more left than right.
I have a conlang with a concivilization. My concilivization is called the Qonurut which means "those of the homeland". Their planet is called Qonur which means "homeland". I have been working on this concept in some form for over a year. Details on my concilivization's interplanetary neighborhood can be found here: http://www.qonur.com/planets.html How the humans got on Qonur can be found here: http://www.qonur.com/beginnings.html. Other details about the Qonurut (such as their language) have not completely edited and finalized yet. ;)

The images of your stellar system are stunning; and from the looks of it, you put a lot of work into detailing everything. It looks interesting, but for now, welcome to the boards.

Welcome!
Your consystem images are awesome, did you just draw them yourself?
You and Sano seem to share an appreciation of /q/.

I mostly used Arc Soft Photo Studio 5.5 to make the images. It a computer program that I found really really useful for doing space art. :) I did not of drawing with it on my computer as well.
I also used elements little bit from some photos I had taken, for example the ocean scene was from a picture I had taken of a section of rapids on a river, that I duplicated, using varying degrees of opacity, coloration, sharpening, blurring, and shading to morph into a ocean.
As for liking , I happen to like all the uvular consonants, such as and uvular as well, and using , , and uvular in my conlang.

Welcome. I reassure you that we use only the finest quality propaganda here and our touch football team is amateur at best. :)

LOL :P Well my aversion to cheap propaganda is definitely understandable. I do like some professional sports to an extent, but my main issue with them at times is that they themselves are often cheap propaganda along with an incredibly clever way for those in power to keep the masses distracted from their problems. (Like the Roman Circus). (But that's my opinion - no offense to any sports fans out there. ;) )
