So....
Tectonics:
DISCLAIMER: I am NOT an expert on these, so please critique this map if they don't look right. I just wanted to keep going, so here's a suggestion:
Plates:
High Earthquake/Volcano Risk (if above plates are accepted):
The thicker the ring, the more the risk.

Why am I not surprised that Raitoli.a is once again a hot spot for natural disasters.
I think I'm going to make Verisa a volcanic island, sort of a parallel to Hawai'i.

Wow, he's gonna by-pass warfare and take us out with acts-of-god! ;)
I like the map, mostly, but I see some problems (like where the F-G fault cuts perpendicularly through the southern mountain area) and (personall) I had some other ideas for the formation of the tekann valley region. I'm at work, so I'll try to think up some alternatives to post later on. :)

*Scoffs* :x Like reality matters. Hmph! :P
I'll try to think up some alternatives to post later on.
Please do.

I'm still kind of new at the conworlding thing. I think people have wanted an alternative tectonics map, which I am working on. Is there anything else that needs to be done or redone?
The Peloric Orchid- 01-02-2008
Please forgive the utter lameness of my maps. I did my best, but the graphics aren't that great. I handwrote the letters, because the text boxes refured to coopoerate. I also used the alternative map because it was much larger. The first map shows the tectonic boundaries, the second the ares that possess high risk. I don't know what makes any area riskier than another, but I put them where I thought they belonged.
Edit: pics reduced by Sano

They're fine! I think they also work out nicely. It gives Raitoli.a (sorry if misspelled  ) a nice break. If other people comment it would be nice (I myself am sorry for not being more involved in this project), seeing as I have only a small amount of knowledge regarding tectonics.
Another question, for the lands of Êġarol: how likely are fjords in on my coast? I'm not quite sure if the land would have a high enough elevation to allow for them, but all the same, I personally would like to have them. Just wanted to check the possibility of it happening. Thanks.
Tolkien_Freak- 01-03-2008
I don't know anything at all about plate tectonics, so I wouldn't know how plausible this would be, but it seems good.

Well, just from the original map...
your country occupies a tiny shelf of land between the sea and one of the higher mountain ranges of Savukk. Contour-wise, that makes your area relatively steep and high. I don't know how slow or fast you'd need flowing water to be to create fjords, but I don't see a problem with it. Double check on how fjords are formed, but I think you're prolly able to have them.

Is there anything else we should finalize or work?
Personally, I think we (might) need more maps submitted. It would be nice if we could compare plate maps, and then go with the one we like better.
No offense to Raluv, but I feel my map does a better job of including the mountains. Anybody else have any thoughts?

Well, maps always have room for improvement. Currently there are maps for ocean currents, average temperature/humidex, biomes, tectonics, nations.
Although for the tectonics, I think you might want to check forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=1886#1886> this out for reference. Where you placed the 3 tectonic map shifts "I, N, UP" are actually part of the same place in the world. Just that the map's not spherical so you'd think the south east land was part of a different continent.
Otherwise I'd say extend I, N, UP & M into one continent for more continuity; or break it off before M but include part of L (perhaps cut it partly in Nokeo's south region where the lake is or below, towards the west 'dent'); and have that continent be moving downwards on the left side and upwards on the right landmass.
Unless of course, you prefer having the one side as a separate continent/island, whereas the division is covered by the ice of the South Pole.
